Copprium Goes To Summer School, Wins $50,000

Copprium participates in SUNY RF 2024 Startup Summer School (S4) 10-week accelerator program to help bring its innovative electronics technology to market.

Buffalo, NY, 8/15/2024Copprium, Inc. won $50,000 in this year’s SUNY Startup Summer School (S4) Class of 2024 Demo Day at SUNY Albany. Demo Day is a pitch competition that is the culmination of a 10-week accelerator program provided by SUNY RF for NYS startups. Copprium’s presentation on innovative technology for making electronics won one of two $50,000 awards. Copprium is a startup from the University at Buffalo’s Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships program. They are bringing Nanomaterials created in the University of Buffalo’s labs  to the world of additive manufacturing by offering copper-based inks that can be printed on virtually any surface.

Copprium manufactures conductive inks for commercial and industrial printed electronics applications. At the core of Copprium’s award-winning innovation is a collection of patented nano-technology ink formulations that enable conductive circuits to be applied using 3D printing techniques. Conductive inks are created with electrically conductive materials specifically formulated to allow electrical current to flow through them. Copprium’s inks are plug & play replacements to swap out high-cost silver with copper in traditional electronic applications, particularly when flexibility is needed.

“There is so much to learn about being an entrepreneur. The SUNY S4 summer program provided critical information and tools to help us with commercializing our products” said Brian Biscoff, founder and CEO, “ and they back up their program with ongoing support, access to mentors, introductions to investors, and resources like the Demo Day award. We are so appreciative of being chosen to receive this $50,000 in funding. All the presenters did a fantastic job, we feel honored to be recognized.”

“The S4 Demo Day award is yet another example of how our SUNY public university system is working to support entrepreneurs.” said Edward Tierney, board advisor at Copprium. “Many of the technologies presented could make a huge difference in our lives and our world but need the type of support offered through the many SUNY programs to reach commercial status. Copprium will use these funds to help bring its technology into the global market.”

About Copprium

Copprium, Inc., a spin out from the University at Buffalo’s Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships office, is innovating new methods of applying electronic circuitry that are solderable, anti-corrosive, antioxidative and can be sintered at as low as room temperature. Using Copprium conductive inks, manufacturers can print electronic pathways on a wide range of materials and flexible surfaces that traditional subtractive processes can’t.

About the SUNY S4 Startup Accelerator

S4 is an annual business accelerator program that aims to identify, educate, and build strong entrepreneurial teams in order to bring SUNY technologies to market. The program offers virtual accelerated entrepreneurial education and training for participants to help them secure the initial funding needed to get their technology to market. S4 participation has increased from 84 students, faculty, and staff participants in 2019, to 397 SUNY students, faculty, and staff in emerging technologies fields spanning 28 different SUNY campuses in this year’s program.
